Our Mission

  • We are a community of families in Bermuda, who wish to stand together to delay smartphones and social media for our children. We want to use our collective action to help our kids make the most their childhood.

  • We want our children to run, play outside and experience our beautiful island rather than sitting on screens scrolling.

  • We want our children to flourish and let their brains develop before they are faced with constant notifications and likes.

  • We are not judging anyone, we do not want to create division, we understand different families have different needs.

  • We are not anti-technology, we are pro-childhood.

  • We can stand together and take a breath rather than sleepwalking into getting smartphones for our children, just because “everyone else has one”.

  • In the UK, a WhatsApp chat started by a few mums turned into global collective action - let’s do the same on our small island.

  • We propose all parents sign a pledge to delay smartphones until at least age 14 and social media until age 16.

  • We encourage parents to embrace alternatives - brick phones, landlines, using a family laptop for research, AirTags or simple tracking watches.
